"Well those two have quite the legacy to live up to. Especially when they get to Hogwarts. We'll of course have to pass on all of our knowledge to them before they go off to school. It's only fair that they should know how to wreak as much havoc as possible.
You know you're always welcome at my house for as long as you want and Mr. Prewett I could get lost in your good looks for hours," Raven laughed at the last part and tried to make it sound like she was joking but the inflection in her voice betrayed her laugh. She was being dead serious. She quickly rebounded, hoping he hadn't caught on.
"The best looking gal in school huh? Who was that pray tell? Anyone I know?" She grinned mischievously and winked at him. Was he being serious? Did he really think she was the best looking girl at Hogwarts? Raven didn't know, she wanted to hear him say it. She could have died to hear him say that.

Gideon laughed. "Oh don't you worry, I've already got a little box with Fred and George's name on it. Stocked full of the esentials mind you"
Molly would kill him. Arthur though, would find it amusing but would give into his wife's demands. He was so under the thumb.
"I know what you mean Rave. I could get lost in my good looks for hours as well. I've had to remove all my mirrors from my house. It was just to distracting." Gideon did his I'm serious act although he knew Raven knew him better. Much to his disadvantage.
"We'll depending on how much next paycheque goes, I may end up living with you. Gosh, noone told me how expensive it was to live on your own." he grinned. He would love nothing more to live with Raven, but wasn't sure how she would handle it, let alone him.
"The best looking girl in school....Are you kidding it was that Amy ...I forgot her name, the one who could get her legs behind her ears.."Gideon joked. "You goof bag it was you...Plus I saw all those guys looking at you"

Of course I'd have to make one of the other rooms livable unless you want to sleep in my room with me." And once again Raven's mouth betrayed her. It didn't really bother her though, the idea of Gideon living with her made her heart jump into her throat and butterflies dance round in her stomach.
"Boys didn't look at me in school, unless of course they were whispering about how weird or crazy I was. But thank you for the compliment love. If they were staring at me I didn't notice, I was too busy gawking at this attractive house mate of mine that I used to be with all the time. He was the only man for me," Raven got a rather misty, wistful look in her eye as she 'joked' about Gideon.
Oh I can't stand this.
TELL HIM YOU LOVE HIM.
But I don't love him..Do I?
Raven's inner voices were interrupted by their food magically appearing before them.
"Ahh, sustenance!"

Gideon grinned "An why haven't I gotten one before now." he pouted.
"Liveable...God you should see my house, not even the rats want to live there. Molly has completely given up. Every time I want to see the boys now I have to go over to the burrow." He laughed.
It was true. Gideon could be a bit of a slob at times. Fabian was the neater one. Not by much though.
"No way am I sleeping with you. Been there done that and you snore." he exclaimed. Of course he would like nothing more then to sleep with Raven. Cuddle up to her at night and wake up to her morning breath. But players must be players.
"Please Raven, I saw the boys looking at you, even if you were so oblivious to the going ons." Gideon had always stuck up for Raven, even when some of the other boys had given him grief about her. Asking how she 'was'.
"What about Sirius. He was a bit of a poonce but funny." Gideon stomach gave a twang. What was he doing. He shouldnt be pushing her towards others. But he was sure that she would never like him that way. Friends was they way they had to stay.
Gideon's thoughts were interrupted by a plate being thrust under his nose. "Mmm Grubs up" he grinned, pulling a cooked webbed foot out of his pie and licking it.

"Ow are Mowwy an Arfur?" She asked around a mouthful of sandwich as she chewed it.

Gideon loved grossing out Raven, which at times could be very difficult to do. He put down his goose foot and picked up a fork.
"Apart from lack of sleep, the twins are teething, they are great. Frankly I have never seen Molly so happy" Gideon grinned. He loved all those boys.
Bill was the hard hitting big brother. Charlie had an assortment of animals living on him at any given time, Percy was very smart for his age and Gideon's youngest nephews, well, they had a long line of pranking ahead of them.
Giddy grinned like the proud uncle he had. "Frankly though, I don't know how she does it. Love kids....but probably not a good thing I have them." he laughed, shovelling a mouthful of pie into his waiting food hole.
"What about you?? I don't really see Raven with kids, the poor things would be so messed up" he joked.

Raven nearly choked on her bite of sandwich when Gideon made the comment about having kids.
"You're probably right Giddy," Raven managed to say after choking down a rather large portion, "I don't think either one of us should have children. I mean first of all, who in their right minds would want to have kids with either one of us and secondly, those poor kids would get kicked out of school on their first day.
So to answer your question, no I can't see myself with kids and you're also right about the fact that they would be incredibly messed up unless psychosis skips a generation. The only thing they wouldn't have to worry about is me fucking them up. After what my parents did to me...If I ever have kids they're going to be treated right." Raven put her sandwich down and then pushed her plate back. Thinking about her family wasn't exactly something that she liked to do. She had worked fairly long and hard to try to push out the memories of what had been done to her but it wasn't very easy to do.

Gideon laughed. "Well I'll share Molly and Arthur's with you. There is plenty to go around." He took another bite of his meal and washed it down before looking back at Raven.
He watched her push away her meal and realised that he had brought up a rather touchy subject with her. "Uh Rave, I'm sorry..Its just..." He looked at his friend from across the table. "You know how much of an idiot I am? I just get caught in the moment." he winked and grinned, hoping to cheer her up.

Raven forced a smile but realized as she did that she meant it. She could never be mad at Gideon for any length of time and no matter what he did he always made her feel better almost instantly.
"It's alright Giddy, I know you didn't mean it. Maybe one day I'll get over it all but until then I'll just deal with it and let it go as it comes. You're not an idiot, you just get caught up but even when you upset me you always make me feel better almost right away."
Raven pulled her plate back to her and took another bite, she wasn't really hungry anymore but she would pretend for the sake of smoothing over the situation. She didn't want things to be awkward between them, not ever. Gideon was her best friend in the world and Raven couldn't imagine what she would do without him.

Gideon grinned cheekily. "I know...I know...Who can resist this face?"
He shovelled one last mouthful of pie into his waiting mouth before pushing the plate aside. Leaning back in the chair, Gideon proceeded to pick his teeth.
"But what if I want to be an idiot. The world needs laughs...and I have the duty to put myself out there in stupid situations. I dedicate my body to help the more needy." Gideon laughed.

"So what if I were to say that I needed someone to keep me entertained? Would that qualify for the body dedicating?" Raven grinned and laughed as she herself finished her sandwich but she was also half serious. She wouldn't mind in the slightest waking up to Gideon every morning or cuddling close to him at night. Even though he had been joking as far as she was concerned he was right, she couldn't resist that face. But there was far more to it as well.
"The world can get laughs without you being an idiot love. Especially nowadays. I mean come on, if people just look at you they'll crack up laughing, especially with a mug like that!" Raven snorted into her drink which caused her to cough quite violently as she laughed.

He did his best pretty boy pose and brought his forefinger and thumb to his chin..
"This mug gets the ladies..." he grinned. Well not lately. He had been so busy with work and the order that he barely had time to scratch his bum.
Gideon laughed as Raven choked on her drink and patted her hard on the back. "At least I don't have to scare people into laughing by threating them." he joked.

"I don't think I could scare you Gideon if I tried. Well not without putting my life in jeopardy but that's a whole new can of worms there. Other people seem to just shy away from me because they think I'm some sort of deranged psychopath which isn't that far from the truth but unless you piss me off or mess with my Giddy then I'm relatively harmless. Relatively being the key word there.
Oh yea, that mug gets something alright but I don't know if you could call them ladies," Raven was interrupted by the appearing of their bill which she picked up and read the balance due and before Gideon had a chance to look at it she paid for their meals watching it as it seemed to melt into the table. "What do you say we get out of here and go for a walk or something? I need some time to digest before I try to go back and deal with more Ministry bull shit."

Gideon laughed. "Oh your just a big ol' pussy cat. Harmless." Gideon grinned as he looked at her over his drink.
"I mean your a little tactless when it comes to 'mixing' with normals but hey we can't hold that against you? can we?" He patted her gently on the hand. He grinned and shook his head, causing a few strands to fall into his eyes. He casually swept his hand past his forehead and over his crown. "Hmn I need a haircut" he thought to himself idlely.
Gideon made a grab for the account but was beaten to it. "Oh yeah now I look so cool" he said to Raven as she quickly paid for the bill.
Gideon slid sideways out of the chair and made a loud grunting noise as he pretended to struggle to get up. "Oh yesth I so need to work this off, or else its straight to my thighs." he grinned holding his hand out for Raven to help her up. "Although I think I may need a colonoskpy to get rid of this lot." He grinned as he led the way out of the stuffy pub.
He hadn't realised how long they had actually been in there and noticed that it was a little chiller then before. "Where to next m'lady?"

Raven took Gideon's arm as they exited the Leaky Cauldron walking close to him to try to fight off the burst of cold air as it hit them full on in the face.
"Well I suppose it's too early to start drinking so I guess that the bar is out of the question. We could go back through the cauldron and go to Diagon Alley, it's always at least a little warmer there than it is out here, and plus I have to buy some more potion ingredients for healing potions. Or we could stand here and stare at each other awkwardly until we're both too cold and decide to go back to work. It's up to you, I'm not a fan of the last one but hey I'm game for anything." Raven then poked Gideon playfully in the stomach, her finger didn't go in very far, he had a bit of a squish to him but from she could tell he was fairly well toned.
"Maybe we should go to the park and walk around for a bit Giddy, you do feel awfully squishy. You're losing your sexy figure sitting behind that desk all day."

Gideon's skin tingled slightly at Raven's touch. She surprisingly had smooth skin. He wasn't quite sure what type of lotion she used.
"Its never to early to start drinking, but I'm not sure if it would go down well with Moody." Gideon grimaced slighly at the thought of Moody going mental at them both for being drunk on the job. "It would probably be uglier then his face when he is happy."
Gideon scratched his belly where she had poked it. "Hey I'm still the sexy Giddy that you all fell in love with." he grinned. "But if you need to get some crap then away we go to Diagon Alley."
He did have a little bit of a pot belly thing going on but under that was muscle. It was true sitting around all day in an office did tend to make you eat a little more.

"Actually I rather like you with a little squish," Raven replied as she wrapped her arms around him before they turned back to go into the Leaky Cauldron. "There's more of you to hug that way and plus, poking you is fun."
She led the way back through the dark dingy room and out the back into the alley way. After she let go of Gideon's arm she pulled out her wand and tapped the bricks to open the gateway to Diagon Alley. The bricks rotated and shifted as though they were grumbling about being disturbed as the doorway was revealed. A rush of much warmer wind wrapped about them ushering them inside. Raven stepped through and after he had walked through she closed the portal so they could be on their way.

Gideon stepped through the archway and quickly scanned the area. 3 years ago he would have never done that. He would have just goofily stumbled through with his brother Fabian in tow. The mischief they used to get up to, but those days were now gone. Now Fabian's, Raven's and his own days were filled with a constant paranoia that a Death Eater was going to jump out at any minute.
"Oh its a bit warmer here" Gideon grinned. "Although the atmosphere isn't" He looked around at the people, back in the day Diagon Alley would of been filled with smiling faces and cheery eyes. Now everyone was keeping to themselves. The glowing atmostphere was now filled with a dull gloss.
As he scanned the area he noted a couple of fellow aurors that had blended themselves into the crowd. He casually nodded his hello
"So off to the potion shop we go" he grinned yet again taking Raven's arm.

As they walked Raven kept looking at Gideon out of the corner of her eye. She could feel her cheeks redden a little despite herself. They weren't really together but in the light of everything that was going on at work and in the world, it was nice to just pretend.
The apothecary wasn't far from the main entrance to Diagon Alley from the muggle world but Raven took her time, walking more slowly than usual. She wanted to prolong the moment as much as possible but she was also studying the faces of those who actually dared to look her in the eyes. So much pain, it practically radiated off of everyone. Pain, paranoia, and utter fear. No one lingered in one spot for very long, no one wanted to make eye contact, everyone was on their guard.
"Poor devils, by the time this is all over I expect almost every one of them will have lost someone or know someone who has lost someone. It makes me sick to think that we aren't doing more," Raven whispered as she opened the door to the apothecary and went in.
The smell inside an apothecary is a mixed sensation, different animal parts, dried, chopped, minced, powdered, all hanging in the air. Usually at least the back door was open to let in some fresh air but not anymore. It was overwhelming to a certain degree and it was hard to keep her food down as she made her way up to the counter and gave her list of needed ingredients to the shop keeper.
"You know, we should go and see Gambol and Japes while we're here too. I think they'd be quite upset if they found out that we were here and we didn't stop by."

Right then, Sirius thought, letting his eyes rove over the shelves at Gambol and Japes. I need something to get rid of this stupid headache.
Ever since he and Raven had come back from their mission he had had a splitting headache...not to mention nightmares. When he'd asked James and Lily about it, they had fussed over him like he was a child, shoving homemade remedies in his face, asking constantly if he was okay.
Honestly. I came back in one piece. That's all that matters.
Frog's legs? No. Eye of newt? No. A large jar on one of the top shelves contained several slimy things that looked disgustingly like tongues.
I'm sure that's not what I need either, he thought. Why didn't I pay more attention in Potions?
The thought of Potions led to an even more disturbing thought. A face in the dark. A raised wand. An all-too-familiar voice cursing him. He shook thoughts of Snape from his head and sighed.
We all have to choose sides at some point. I'm really not surprised that he chose the wrong one.
Running a hand carelessly through his hair he sighed again, heavier this time. "I give up!" he said, turning his head slightly at the sound of the bell over the door.
